Determination of the dynamic respiration index

Main Features

  • Determination of the biological stability of a biomass performed by measuring the respiration index using the dynamic method DiFCA (1) (now Di.Pro.Ve.).
  • Performance of biostabilization and/or biodrying tests comparable with full-scale processes conducted in the plant.
  • Monitoring of the main process parameters, evaluation of their trends and the possibilities of acting on them during respiration tests.
  • Recording a large quantity of data using a PC equipped with an interfacing board and software that allows minimum acquisition intervals of 1 minute.

Compared with the old Respirometer 3024B, Respirometer 3028 has been revised and updated to modern technologies. The innovations and advantages of the new equipment are listed below:

  • The control panel includes all the latest innovations available on the market; it is much more durable and easy to update.
  • The control panel has a large internal memory for storing multiple analyses, always retrievable and viewable over time.
  • A choice of two types of probe:

Optical probe or electrochemical oxygen measuring probe

  • Flow meter from 0 l/h to 300 l/h.
  • The user-friendly software is updated according to the latest designs.
  • The software can be used to set up an analysis, check its progress, prepare and produce reports, upload and edit previous analyses, and monitor the maintenance status of the equipment.
  • Export files are in .pdf and .csv format.
  • The instrument can be connected to and integrated with the company network via LAN or WI-FI connection, and monitored via mobile phone.
  • Automatic back-up in the event of shutdown due to external causes; the instrument is able to resume analysis and guarantees recovery of the data acquired up to shutdown.
