ECS 8020

Elemental analyzer for inhomogeneous samples

Description

The ECS 8020 elemental analyzer is fully automatic and ideal for the analysis of inhomogeneous samples.

The fields of application are therefore those of soil, biomass, waste, fertilizers, etc.

It is an instrument for organic elemental analysis based on high-temperature catalytic combustion (Dumas method) for the simultaneous determination of the elements CHNS and possibly O as an option.

The ECS 8020 is the automatic model that represents an evolution of the elemental analysis techniques based on “flash combustion” and chromatographic separation. The combustion gases CO2, H2O, SO2 and N2 are separated in a GC column maintained at a constant temperature, selectable by the user between 30° and 110 °C. The detection and determination of the concentrations of the various elements is carried out by a thermal conductivity detector (TCD).

The ECS 8020 is a fully automated analytical unit, controlled by a microprocessor and interfaced with a computer. The results can be viewed directly via PC using dedicated software.

  • Fully automated analysis system
  • High sensitivity, accuracy and precision
  • Flexibility and versatility of application
  • Detector does not require reference gas
  • Powerful software for viewing results from a computer
  • Touch-screen display for an easy settings management
  • Consumables status monitoring for optimized catalyst usage
  • Three types of samplers available: manual, pneumatic and Zero Blank (ZB).
  • Easy connection to Mass Spectrometers and other detectors for stable isotope analysis
  • Low operation and management costs
  • Standby mode to save on gas, energy and time

The ECS 8020 is recommended when you want to analyze particularly inhomogeneous samples (semi-macro weighing) and in laboratories where many samples are analyzed, thanks to its high degree of automation.

The ECS 8020 is composed of three main modules: a sampling/combustion system (three different autosamplers and various types of reactors are available to ensure an always optimized application), the detection system and the data management system.

The detector (TCD, Thermal Conductivity Detector, with an exclusive design) is self-calibrating and does not require the use of a reference gas.

The ECS 8020 combines robustness, reliability and flexibility to meet the most diverse analytical needs.

The ECS 8020 is particularly suitable for connection with other units for the determination of the isotopic ratios of stable elements (IDMicro EA).
